ARA (American Rimfire Association) rules are very simple: as long as it is safe, “anything goes”. Rules allow any scope power, and 22 RF ammunition only. (No .17 cal. ammo.)

The Rim Fire only range was built around the NRA Silhouette courses of fire and is used 6 times throughout the year for this competition. .22 short, Long and long rifle are the only calibers allowed on this range, it has plinking steel at 25 yards and standard NRA silhouette swingers at the regulation distances (Chicken 40 meters, Pig 60 meters, Turkey 77 meters and Ram at 100 meters). Also there are target backers for hanging paper targets at 50 yards and 100 meters.
